The new series will premiere on NOVA PLAY on November 8

Nova Broadcasting Group is taking another innovative step in the Bulgarian media industry by introducing one of the fastest-growing genres in digital entertainment – vertical drama. With this move, the multiplatform media company further strengthens its position as an industry pioneer, offering a new way to experience video content through short, fast-paced episodes tailored to the viewing habits of today’s audiences.

The new production will premiere on NOVA PLAY on November 8. The series “Da Obiknesh Nepoznat” is a romantic thriller with a crime-driven storyline, following a young woman who falls in love with a mysterious man suffering from amnesia while fighting to save her family business. She soon discovers that the dark secrets of his past threaten not only their relationship but also her future, potentially changing her life forever.

Vertical drama is a series format specifically designed and produced for vertical viewing on smartphones. Combining compelling storytelling, dynamic pacing and visually engaging scenes that capture attention from the very first second, these productions create a strong emotional connection with audiences, drawing them into the narrative and encouraging them to follow the story through to its conclusion. The short episode format also offers greater flexibility, allowing viewers to enjoy content on the go, across different devices and in a variety of settings.

The introduction of vertical drama in Bulgaria represents a key element of Nova Broadcasting Group’s digital transformation strategy and its commitment to expanding its portfolio of innovative content formats. On the one hand, hybrid productions are transforming traditional television content into continuously evolving multiplatform experiences that extend far beyond conventional broadcasting. On the other, the development of additional exclusive digital formats enables content to reach audiences across the online ecosystem, fostering deeper and more sustained engagement.

The vertical drama “Da Obiknesh Nepoznat” has been created by a young creative team with international experience, with most of the cast making their debut before Bulgarian audiences. By introducing this new genre, NOVA PLAY further diversifies its content portfolio and enhances the value of its subscription offering, delivering benefits that extend beyond ad-free viewing.
